Dragon Teeth & Mount Satima | Nyandarua

When there is not much to do on a weekend, what else is better than hitting the trail. This time I went to the highest point in the Aberdares, Mount Ole Satima.

View from the summit

This was my second time hiking the trail and provided one starts early, I believe even the lightest of hikers can summit.

The trail is a moderate climb but since the starting point is already at a high altitude, constant hydration was the norm.

I reached the summit in about 3 hours and went back down in about 2 hours. The best view was the dragon teeth which is midpoint on the trail.

Since it was my return here 4 years later I can say with all confidence that the first time you do a trail is the hardest. Coming back wasn’t so difficult a this time there was no foggy weather. Took some great shots as you can see below.
