It took me a while before I went on a hike again, this time it was the Kilome Hill.
Located in Makueni county, it was a small drive away from Nairobi. It was a small group courtesy of Cushy Adventures.

The morning weather of the place is cool with clouds lower and touching the hill. It’s a great destination for a very early morning hike because once the sun came out, it was time to leave.
Kilome hill is mainly a down way trail to the Kenze Gorges. How beautiful the gorges were.

The trail was longer than 5 hours in total but the main challenge was climbing Kilome Hill after navigating the gorges. It being a community hike, it’s very important to have a local as your guide.

The hot sun made us cut the hike short early. The whole trail was littered with low value gem stones and we caught a glimpse of a few.
Most importantly I found love where I was not looking for it. See below.

The Kenze Gorges was quite nice as we finished off with a lunch at the “Distinct Stopover’s” new 24 hour joint. We were in Nairobi by 6pm.
